In Genesis 15:6, we read that Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness. In Genesis 22, we see that Abraham’s faith is tested. A common theme throughout the scriptures is the Lord testing his people. In these tests, the Lord has good and gracious purposes. The testing of Abraham’s faith is not for the Lord. The Lord knows Abraham’s faith is genuine. The testing of Abraham’s faith is for Abraham, and for us today.
