Our book of the month for March is, When Sinners Say I Do, by Dave Harvey. This is the first marriage book we have recommended, but one that we have used many times here at CBC in premarital counseling. Whether you’re about to get married, or have been married for many years, this book will be a help and encouragement to you.
Why is it that marriages have struggles, or fall apart? It’s because of sin. Many marriage books seek to give couples practical suggestions and “how-to’s” to fix their marriages. When Sinners Say I Do, while practical in places, help us see how our sin affects our marriages. When we see ourselves as the sinners we are, then the gospel shines forth more clearly. Ultimately, the good news of the gospel is what our marriages need. It is for this reason that we highly recommend, When Sinners Say I Do.
