At CBC we use the AWANA structure for our young children’s ministry. The name AWANA is an acronym, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15, “Approved workmen are not ashamed.” The strength of AWANA is in its scripture memory program. We will use the AWANA workbooks for scripture memory, and then use The Biggest Story Curriculum for lesson time.
We see in scripture that the primary discipleship is to be taking place in the home as Christian parents bring their children up in the, “discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). In no way do we see CBC Children’s Ministry replacing that. Rather, our desire is to be another tool in the hands of parents that are serious about obeying scripture and discipling their children.
The Calvary Bible Church AWANA program runs Sunday nights from 5:00-6:30 and is for all youth ages 3 to 6th grade. Please register if you would like to attend.
